I am the director and founder of Consulta Europa since 2009, settled company in Gran Canaria. I have been working since 2004 as a freelance consultant in EU programmes, funding and politics for innovation and territorial development. My main research interests are regional and European innovation policies, social innovation, business and innovation models. I hold a Master’s degree in International and Diplomatic Sciences and a PhD in Industrial Engineering with specialisation in innovation management at Politecnico di Torino.
I hold a bachelor’s degree in Economics and a Master’s degree in Tourism Management and Planning from the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (ULPGC). I also completed a PhD in Applied Economics, granted with a pre-doctoral contract from the Canary Islands government. I have worked as a lecturer at the ULPGC as well as researching on several projects related to my principal area of interest: economy applied to tourism and transport. At Consulta Europa, I manage the H2020 ATHENA project and I am responsible for the Regional Focal Point for the Macaronesian region of the Canary Islands, Madeira and Azores within the LIFE4BEST initiative of the BEST LIFE programme.
I have a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Management and a bachelor’s degree in Sustainable Coastal Management. I have experience in eco-sanitation and solid and liquid waste management proyects. Apart from this, sustainable development, circular economy and marine and coastal conservation constitute my main research areas. In Consulta Europa, I deal with the development and management of Horizon 2020 projects such as Ruritage or COSME projects like TouriSME.
Graduate in Business Administration and Management in France. As Business developer in a public US organisation in Europe for 12 years and as Trade expert in a EU private organisation for 2 years, I have experience in implementing and coordinating trade and investments projects as well as conducting trade missions and investment seminars across Europe. I speak five European languages (French, Italian, English, Spanish and German). In Consulta Europa, I deal with the development and management of Horizon 2020 projects, including FORWARD project, among others.
As a Canarian and European, I am interested in working for the islands, but also for the European community and its outermost regions. That is why I work at Consulta Europa, where I am in charge of the communication department, but also of the communication part of European projects such as H2020 Ruralization. I specialise in journalism and communication, community management and external action of the European Union. I have a Master’s degree in European Integration from the Autonomous University of Barcelona (Spain) and a Master’s degree in International Relations from RANEPA (Russia). My native language is Spanish, but I also speak English and German. I am still improving my Russian, French and Portuguese, among others.
I am responsible for the administration and accounting department of Consulta Europa. I am graduated in Languages and Tourism at the University of Turin, my native language is Italian, but I am fluent in English (C1), French (C1) and Spanish (C1) and I am improving my German (A2). In addition, I am an expert in gender equality and I am in charge of developing equality plans and advising on their implementation. At Consulta Europa, I am also involved in monitoring state tenders and collecting all the necessary information on projects, both at national and European level.
Ancor Armas Martín
I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Geography and Territorial Planning and a Master’s Degree in Environmental Partnership Management with a career focused on the environmental, sustainability and UN SDGs. As a passionate advocate for climate change action, I have developed a strong aptitude for developing environmental partnerships between institutions to tackle critical issues. My career has developed between local and national government in the UK. Global partnership development, project management and operations expert in sustainability, CSR programmes and communication strategies. Strong partnership and networking skills across non-profit, private and public sectors.
I have a MA in International Relations, BA in Modern Languages, and Master’s Programme in European funding and project development. I am expert in innovation projects and participatory approaches. Previously in my career, I have provided deep-tech start-ups with innovation services to bring their technologies on the market. I was involved in multiple projects of the EU EIC Accelerator and due diligence negotiations for start-ups’ equity investments. At Consulta Europa, I have managed the H2020 IC-Health project dealing with co-creation, and now I am in charge of the H2020 FORWARD project to support innovation & research excellence in Outermost Regions.
I have a PhD in Human Geography from Brunel University (UK) and a degree in Business Administration and Management from the Universitat de València. I have collaborated in the socio-economic impact analysis of LIFE conservation projects. My areas of interest are island sustainability, public participation, future scenarios and multi-criteria analysis. I am fluent in Portuguese and work as a researcher at Consulta Europa, where I have also managed the Interreg Europe GROW-RUP project.
I hold a degree in Political Science and a Master’s degree in International Cooperation, Finance and Development. In addition, I was trained in the fields of Promotion and Management of Innovation, International Relations and Environment. I currently work as a Manager and Coordinator of Cooperation Projects for different public, private and non-profit organisations. Through Consulta Europa, I am in charge of the coordination and financial management of two projects financed by the Interreg Europe Programme: one of them, led by the Government of the Canary Islands (Interreg Europe RESOR), and the other one, led by the Canary Islands Employment Service (Interreg Europe GROW RUP).
